I am very aware of scents and how they affect my mood.
I have been participating in a training session for my work. My job is a Dispatch Scheduler for a window blinds installation company.
Customer service can be very stressful and challenging. Especially when a customer demands a day and time for their installation that is not available.
The Call Center Office practices aromatherapy. They use an air diffuser and essential oils to create a relaxing and calming atmosphere. Smart!!!
The Smell of Fall
What is it about fall that makes everyone crave the smells of cinnamon, apples, pumpkin spice, and everything nice? Probably because these good smells bring to mind wonderful memories of Thanksgiving and Christmas.
If you haven’t tried making a homemade simmering potpourri on the stove, you’re missing out. There are tons of recipes available on Pinterest. This is typically the one I use.
- 1 whole apple, sliced
- 1 whole orange - or just the peel
- 1/2 c. cranberries
- 1 TB whole cloves
- 3 sticks of cinnamon
- 1/2 c. pineapple juice - or 4 juice cubes
- Fill pan with water. Place on the stove on the smallest burner, on the lowest setting. Refill water as needed.
My favorite added smell is the pineapple juice. And the cheapest way to buy it is in a 46-ounce can. But you don’t need the whole can for one simmer pot. So, I freeze the remaining juice in ice cube trays and then pop them into ziploc bags for future use.
Not only do I use them in my simmering potpourri, but in smoothies, fruit punch, etc.
